Professional education coordinators

Coordinators of teacher education program across the university meet monthly during the academic year to advise the Director of Teacher Education on policies, procedures, and curriculum in teacher education. They also create and review assessments to ensure that teacher candidates have the knowledge, skills, and disposition to work in schools.

Diversity Committee

Prior to the development of the new College of Education, Health, and Human Services (EHHS) in 2005, the faculty and administration of the College and Graduate School of Education had been involved in a variety of diversity initiatives. Thus, current efforts of the College Diversity Committee are only the latest in a series of projects to attend to issues of diversity in the College.

Assessment Committee

The Unit Assessment Committee was formed in the fall of 2006 with the charge of revising and refining the assessment system that was in place for the 2001 NCATE BOE visit. Members include faculty representing the range of programs across the professional education unit, representatives from school partnerships, the Unit’s data manager, and the two associate deans. The committee meets monthly.
